The worldset has great potential but there is just something missing in a big way. I understand the need for leading a reader on a bit, but there are not enough breadcrumbs to keep the trail warm to make me want to continue. My biggest issue is that Cemagna the character is rushed. She could be written as the young girl with maturing feelings but still have more depth. Teenage lusts swapping every week is real and could be explored much much better. The writer seems out of touch with the feelings that Cemagna is supposedly having. It's like research was done to see what the right things a teen girl would feel but there is no "ring-of-truth" to it to make the character believable. Temet and the other male characters have way more oomph to them. The bad thing is that the books seem to be Cemagna-centric so it's pretty bad to have that character so lacking.Sorry this is not a series I can follow and i'll wait until this author has way more content available before considering sampling the titles again.

Halfway Wizards and Faeries Book 1 eBook Stephanie Void Reviews

This was a start of a relationship for me. I was counting the days until the sequal came out. Now im sitting here hoping for a third! You will love this. Lots of heavy fantasy detail with a nice lighter feel. Easy to follow and read.
I liked it but didn't love it. It reminded me of the Golden Compass. There were parts that I felt could have been better described, like the Wizard floating school and the people made out of water. I haven't decided yet if I want to read the next book.
I loved this book. It starts with two twins who live alone with their mother on a deserted island. Until they turn 10 and suddenly the boy shows a talent for magic. Within days he is kidnapped, their mother (and he believes sister) dies, and he's left alone under the guidance of the Order of Magicians. No one knows where his old home is and he's wracked with lonliness and sadness at the loss of his family. As he learns more about his talents his sister is determined to one day find her brother and learn how to control the magic she can do as well. I can't say more without giving away the entire plot but it's a "must read" and I'm planning to buy the second in the series right now. Enjoy!
The halfway girl is insane. She accidentally kills her mother and feels nothing. It makes no sense that the Enforcers would be fooled that she was anything but a neophyte. She kills and steals with no regret but 'Oops'. She is a rogue , murdering monster and not a heroine at all as she is made out to be. Very bad writing.
I couldn't make it past chapter 3 in the book. I really wanted too but the story did not engage me at all. Personally I felt it was rather young, in writing and the main characters. In other cases it has been done well and I have greatly enjoyed the books, but this story never really affected me. I remained indifferent while reading of the exciting and emotional things the children were facing. I am supposed to care for these characters and relate to them in some way despite the age difference, but I found them in no way engaging. Best of luck if you give it a shot
Magic is not fun. Going to a school of magic ... or not going ... can get a talented young person killed. Magical society leadership is corrupt and the enforcers are bullies. Only the researchers have some freedom - as long as they produce results and don't rock the boat. Still, for the clever, there are adventures to be had.
This is a tale which kept me enthralled from the very first paragraph, and the taste of the next book in the saga has me wanting more. Harry Potter's world was ideal; this is a story of how magical adults deal with an imperfect world. I'm hoping for many more books in this series.
